Structured content and the DITA standard

SDL Knowledge Center supports the DITA standard and structured content out of the box. Its embedded component content management system (CCMS) allows you to create standalone, reusable content and share this content across publications.

With Knowledge Center, you create content based on the topics your customers search for within a content architecture you define. It provides product release tracking, XML authoring, automated publishing and support for content variations.

    Features

    Advanced versioning
    Use the Baseline Manager to track the release of product information to market. This allows you to track versions of your content that you can sort by status, view updates, view content maps and graphs, compare and update.
    Automated publishing
    You can publish content across channels simultaneously using Publication Manager for faster time to market. Your information developers can view the relationships between content components that go into any published format.
    XML authoring
    With tight integrations to XML authoring tools, such as JustSystems XMetal, PTC Arbortext and oXygen you provide access to industry standard tooling. You can also synchronize content quality capabilities with Acrolinx across desktop and server-based content.
    Content variations
    In addition to the standard conditions set out in the DITA standard, Condition Manager enables information developers to combine any number of conditions so they don’t have to manage all iterations.
